Faculty members teach two stages in the veterinary curriculum: First year: Biology and Biological Hazards Third year: Microbiology, Immunology, Virology, and Parasitology The department aims to expand and develop students’ understanding of the diseases caused by microorganisms and parasites, their transmission methods, life cycles, and to prepare postgraduate students in the fields of veterinary microbiology and parasitology. It also organizes continuing education courses, workshops, and seminars on emerging diseases to raise awareness among veterinarians and the broader community. Vision: The members of the Department of Microbiology strive for excellence in veterinary medicine education by aligning with veterinary education systems at both the Arab and international levels. The goal is to study microorganisms responsible for many animal diseases. Mission: To establish a foundational knowledge base for veterinary students in the fields of bacteriology, virology, mycology, parasitology, immunology, and biological hazards. Objectives: To provide students with fundamental concepts regarding disease-causing microorganisms and parasites, along with teaching immunology to understand disease prevention and vaccination. To enhance students’ understanding of how diseases develop due to microbial and parasitic infections, including transmission methods and life cycles. To train postgraduate students specializing in veterinary microbiology and parasitology. To organize continuing education programs, workshops, and seminars on emerging diseases to raise awareness among veterinarians and the community.
