It teaches first- and second-year students, providing them with comprehensive knowledge in anatomy, histology, and embryology, which scientifically and practically supports their understanding of other veterinary sciences. Vision: The Department of Anatomy is a vital part of undergraduate studies in the College of Veterinary Medicine. It teaches the anatomy of all animal body systems and organs, as well as their interrelationships. Students also study the development of these organs and systems during the embryonic stages of animals, in addition to learning about the histological structure of all tissues and body organs. Mission: The department aims to teach fundamental subjects such as anatomy, histology, and embryology to first- and second-year undergraduate students, as well as to Master’s and PhD students. These subjects are integrated with physiology to understand the function of organs and how to apply this knowledge in other applied veterinary sciences. Objectives: Provide students with a comprehensive understanding of anatomy, histology, and embryology to support their academic and practical learning in other veterinary disciplines. Enable students to identify main anatomical parts and gain practical skills in locating animal body organs through anatomical specimens, forming a strong foundation for clinical sciences. Develop scientific skills by encouraging students to explore international academic references and online educational platforms. Offer descriptive studies of various animal body parts, comparing them among species, recognizing individual and species-specific differences, and identifying their functions. Foster understanding of the relationships between anatomy and other closely related sciences like physiology, and how this knowledge can be applied in practical fields. Train students to recognize normal anatomical structures and later compare them with pathological cases in clinical sciences, applying learned concepts to clinical diagnoses.
