Peace and blessings be upon the best of His creation, our Prophet Mohammad, and upon all his family and companions. The College of Environmental Sciences is a pioneering academic institution, carrying a noble message to protect the environment and preserve its resources. This is not merely a moral responsibility, but rather a science, thought, and a constantly evolving practical practice based on accurate knowledge, conscious planning, and effective partnerships with various sectors of society. The College of Environmental Sciences at the University of Mosul was established in 2006 in response to rapid developments in the field of environmental sciences. It represents an effort to prepare specialized cadres possessing the competence and ability to address current and future environmental challenges. Nowadays, the college comprises four distinct academic departments: the Department of Environmental Sciences, the Department of Environmental Technologies, the Department of Environmental Health, and the Department of Climate Change. These specializations are at the forefront of fields in demand in the local, regional, and international labor markets, especially in light of the global shift towards a green economy and sustainable development. Environmental science graduates are no longer merely specialists; they have become active partners in industrial, agricultural, and health institutions, environmental and consulting companies, government agencies, and international organizations. From that point of view, our college prioritizes strengthening partnerships and integration with governmental and private institutions by offering advanced training and consulting programs, implementing applied research projects that contribute to achieving sustainable development, and raising environmental awareness in society. At the College of Environmental Sciences, we believe that the environment is not just a local issue, but an international one that intersects with many aspects of life: health, energy, agriculture, urban planning, and even directly affects food and water security. Therefore, we strive to graduate a generation of specialized students and academics capable of making a real difference and building a more sustainable and prosperous environmental future. In conclusion, I, along with my colleagues at the college, renew my commitment to continue working diligently and sincerely, keeping in mind the college’s mission and values, to be a model of academic excellence, sound scientific research, and service to our beloved country. We pray to Allah to grant us success in what is best for science, the environment, and humanity.
