This will serve as a fundamental pillar for building medical students’ knowledge and preparing them for future healthcare challenges. *Mission* The department’s mission is to educate students scientifically and provide them with essential information about the human body and its structure at the macroscopic and microscopic levels, with a focus on applied aspects. *Objectives* The department’s objectives include: 1. Continuous development of the teaching and laboratory process. 2. Supporting quality assurance and accreditation processes. 3. Providing students with in-depth knowledge and experience in applied and clinical anatomy. 4. Contributing to the college’s accreditation and maintaining its reputation. 5. Raising the scientific level of postgraduate studies to ensure high quality in graduate efficiency. * Brief History* The Department of Anatomy was established in 1959, along with the College of Medicine at the University of Mosul. The department’s faculty members teach theoretical and practical anatomy and medical biology to first-year students, as well as theoretical and practical anatomy, neuroanatomy, histology, and embryology to second-year students, and macroscopic and radiological anatomy to both stages. The department also has an experimental research unit that provides laboratory animals, such as rats and rabbits, for scientific research purposes. The department also has a museum that contains plastic and human models and specimens, preserved and mounted. The department accepts medical and dental students for Master’s and Ph.D. studies in anatomy and supervises them, having graduated over 35 Master’s students and 13 Ph.D. students. The department also conducts monthly seminars, participated by postgraduate students and supervised by faculty members . *Faculty Members* The department has a team of faculty members with expertise in various areas of anatomy, including: 1.
